We’ve got a seltzer situation on our hands. Sales of hard seltzer are slowing down, which means a bunch of the stuff is sitting on store shelves, not being purchased. Boston Beer Company Chairman Jim Koch -- whose company makes Truly Hard Seltzer -- said plans are in place to destroy millions of cases because they’ll pass their expiration dates. Koch explained that he doesn’t want to sell seltzer that’s not fresh, so the company will “crush millions of cases of product before it goes stale.”
