Taco Bell Argument Boils Over
Two women in Dallas are suing a Taco Bell for $1 million over the way they handled their complaint about a wrong order.
Brittany Davis and her minor niece say they placed a $31 order at the drive-thru but didn't get everything they ordered. They claim they drove up to the window two more times to complain and correct the order, but the employee didn't want to hear it. So they parked the car and walked inside to speak with the manager, but that's when things got crazy. While asking for their correct order, Davis claims a worker challenged her niece to a fight and the manager came up front with a pitcher of boiling water and threw it at them, splashing them in the face and chest. The two of them ran out of the restaurant as workers allegedly clapped and laughed. The Dallas Police Department is investigating the incident and reviewing surveillance footage.
Meanwhile, the lawsuit claims the women suffered severe burns and other medical problems. Taco Bell has not yet responded to the lawsuit.
Scott's Thoughts:
- The video shows the manager filling up a pitcher of hot water and dousing them with it.
- What the video doesn't show is the possibility that the staff was acting in self defense?
- If the staff felt threatened, they should have called the police right away.
- $31 at Taco Bell?
- Right or wrong, the customer likely to get some kind of settlement to keep it out of court because of the publicity.
