Cleanup On Aisle DUI
It doesn't get much more Florida than this.
Police in Melbourne pulled over a drunk driver in a mobile scooter who was driving erratically through a Walmart. 39-year-old Aaron Gregory allegedly drove through the aisles of the store, crashing into shelves, knocking over displays, and nearly running over customers. Police arrived and apprehended him. They say he was so intoxicated that he couldn't even stand up and had to be taken out of the store on a stretcher. He was charged with driving under the influence, disorderly intoxication, and possession of an open container of alcohol. (The Smoking Gun)
Scott's Thoughts:
- Those scooters have a top speed of 10 mph, which is why he got a DUI.
- Obviously he couldn't stand up. That's why he was in the scooter.
- Those scooters can cause a lot of damage, even when driven sober.
- I see a lot of people using those that could walk in my opinion. Only the truly disabled should use them.
