Rail Service Slows to a Crawl
Of all the unusual and highly skeptical reasons given for travel delays, this one takes the cake for being turtle-y bizarre.
British railway service came to a crawl when a large 110-pound tortoise strolled onto the train tracks. And since our parents tortoise to be kind to animals, train service was shut down until the track-intruder cleared the rails. There are reports that the tortoise suffered a cracked shell and was being care for at an animal rescue. (Metro)
Scott's Thourghts:
- That's turtle-y awesome.
- I hope he wasn't trying to end it all on the train tracks.
- I've seen big sea turtles but nothing like this for a land turtle.
- Those shells are hard, but I don't think it could stand up to a speeding locomotive.
