Over 600 Catfish Seized In Mississippi River Fishing Bust: Five men from Mississippi were arrested last week with 665 blue catfish they caught on the Mississippi River, which is well over the daily limit of 100. Agents of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries found the men fishing on a levee, and the men have several problems facing them. The amount of fish warrants, a fine of up to $500, fishing without a license carries a fine of $350, and then men also face possible 90-day jail sentences and additional fines. And to top it off, they didn’t get to keep the fish; the catfish were donated to an organization that helps feed the hungry and those in need.
