Drinks Are On Me, Says Six-Year-Old

Drinks Are On Me, Says Six-Year-Old

An Ohio woman was arrested on child endangerment charges after her six-year-old son was seen drinking alcohol at a gas station.

A worker inside the convenience store says she saw the boy walk into the store while drinking a bottle of Smirnoff Ice. She was shocked and asked him if he knew what he was drinking. His response shocked her even more. He told her, "Yup, this is me and my mommy's favorite beer. We drink it all the time." He then offered her some. The worker called police and said she would try to keep him at the store, so she told him to go shopping and pick out whatever he wants and she would buy it for him.

The boy ran to a car in the parking lot to put down his drink and returned to pick out some candy, a package of doughnuts, toothpaste, and a bottle of mouthwash. At one point during his shopping spree he pointed at the selection of chewing tobacco and said, "That one's my favorite one. I haven't tried this one yet. My mommy hasn't let me try that one yet, but I like this one the best." When police arrived, the mother told them it was all an accident and she was allowed to go home with the boy. Later on, police went to the home to check on the boy and found him riding a scooter while drinking another Smirnoff Ice. That time, cops arrested the mother and charged her with child endangering and contributing to the delinquency of a child. (WLWT-TV)
