HIGH-TECH GLASSES ALLOW DEAF PEOPLE TO "SEE" CONVERSATIONS
How's this for some cool technology that really helps people ...
A company has created eyeglasses that allow deaf people to "see" conversations by turning audio into subtitles.
The glasses -- called XRAI -- are connected to a smartphone, enabling real-time subtitles from audio conversations to appear on the screen of the glasses.
The company is already working on adding more features, such as adding different languages and detecting voice tones, accents and pitch -- which will allow users to connect with even more people in more places.
Scott's Thoughts:
- My only concern is this could be used as a tool for people to be in on conversations they are not intended to be a part of.
- It is nice to see high tech gadgets to help someone with a disability.
