According to the analysts, like crack, watching the videos is an instant high that wears off quickly, causing the user to seek out another “hit” in the form of a new video. The reason the analysts see a problem is that because of TikTok’s popularity, other social media platforms are adopting the short video model, which they believe will further shorten people’s attention spans and hurt the digital advertising business.
