Raccoon Insurrection

 Raccoon Insurrection

A county legislator in New York has come under attack by a pack of unpatriotic raccoons.

Sam Fein, a lawmaker in Albany County, says raccoons keep invading his house while he's not home, and one of them recently got to his folded-up American flag and pooped on it. He says the first run-in he had with the raccoons was when he left the back door open for his cat. Another time raccoons got in while he was having a cat door installed. Most recently, raccoons chewed through a window screen and got in. Each time, the animals steal food and rummage through his belongings, leaving a big mess behind. He says, "I noticed they got into a cabinet that had a folded up American flag in it and they pooped on the American flag." He called it, "an unpatriotic raccoon."

Since the flag-pooping incident, Fein has fixed the screens and cat door. He still finds them coming to his house, but they haven't been able to get in. He think's they might be attracted to his cat's food. (Albany Times-Union)

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Let's just not turn this into a political thing.
  • That cat door is a bad idea.
  • Raccoons don't care what you do. If they want to get in, they'll find a way in.
