Fetuses prefer carrots over kale ... Researchers in England studying the reactions fetuses have to the foods their mothers eat found that they react much differently to carrots than they do to kale. Scientists studied 4D ultrasound scans of 100 pregnant women and saw that when moms were fed carrots, their babies responded by smiling and laughing. Conversely, when they got a taste of kale, they reacted with a "cry face." Scientists say the study proves that babies can taste and smell in the womb.
