Fast and Furious and Ridiculous

Fast and Furious and Ridiculous

A Georgia driver in a sports car was arrested last week after leading sheriff's deputies on a high-speed chase at a top speed of 150 mph, and it was the second straight night he did it.

27-year-old Tejas Desai took deputies on the highway and through streets in his Nissan GT-R until eventually slowing down to a stop when he was arrested. He told cops he kept going because he simply didn't want to stop. He probably didn't want to stop because just one day earlier, he led police on a chase in which he reached a top speed of 179 mph, which was fast enough to outrun deputies who never caught up to him. He's charged with reckless driving and felony fleeing. (Road and Track) Check out the video below.

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Now he knows... 150 mph isn't fast enough to outrun police, but 179 is.
  • Wow, 179 mph? A jumbo jet typically takes off at a speed of 185 mph.
  • A car on the road should never be able to go that fast.
