Container Gator
Police in Washington state were called out to the woods to investigate a report of someone living inside a shipping container, and were shocked by what else they found.
The 32-year-old man had made a home for himself inside the windowless container, which was also home to a nearly seven-foot alligator and a baby cow. Officers noted that that the man slept on a mattress inside which was right next to a tub where the gator lived. Officers left and arrived the next day with a warrant to seize the animals, but when they returned, the man was gone and so was the baby cow. The alligator, however, had been left behind and was safely captured by animal control officers. It was taken to a nearby wildlife rehabilitation sanctuary. (KATV-TV)
Scott's Thoughts:
- According to Washington law, it is illegal to own an alligator. And according to common sense, it is a really bad idea.
- The large alligator was inside a shopping container with a man and a baby cow and didn't eat either one?
- Neighbors told police they knew someone was living in there with an animal, but they never suspected there was an alligator.
- See? You never really know what your neighbors are up to.
- Gators in Washington State? Isn't that too far north?
