World’s ‘Oldest’ Twins born From Embryos Frozen 30 Years Ago
A couple had embryos frozen in 1992, and after they were donated to the National Embryo Donation Center Philip and Rachel Ridgeway had them thawed this year; twins Lydia and Timothy were born on October 31st, and experts believe it’s the longest time on record between embryos being frozen and being born.
The couple has four other children but says their new twins Lydia and Timothy Ridgeway are their “oldest children.” Philip says the couple chose the embryos with the earliest donor numbers, saying they weren’t “looking to get the embryos that have been frozen the longest in the world, we just wanted the ones that had been waiting the longest.”
