A Florida man exhibited little to no horse sense last Saturday when he slapped a police horse and told officers he “didn’t know he wasn’t allowed to hit the horses."
Two mounted police officers were on patrol in a St. Petersburg neighborhood filled with bars when 27-year-old Ali Lalani walked up behind one of the horses and slapped it on the rear end. The animals were both clearly marked as police horses and even had flashing red and blue lights on them. Lalani insisted he didn't know, but was arrested and charged with battery on a police horse. He was put in jail and later released on $150 bond. (The Smoking Gun)
Scott's Thoughts:
- Hopefully he'll rein in his bad behavior after this incident.
- He is not what you would call a stable genius.
- Let me ask you an equestrian. Is it OK if I slap your horse?
