A Georgia man, who has pretended to be a cop for several years, is under arrest after he promoted himself to fake CIA agent.
The real police say 38-year-old Robert Earhart, Jr. called the U.S. Attorney's Office saying he is a CIA agent with the "protective operations division" and was working with the inspector general on a few ongoing investigations, including one in which a group of people stole $2.5 million from the federal government. During the call, which was recorded, Earhart claimed he has "CIA clearance and top security clearance" and needed to come to the U.S. Attorney's Office to have a judge sign his warrants.
He was arrested and charged with false personation of an officer and faces up to three years in prison and a fine. Police say Earhart has a history of impersonating officers and was caught in 2019 trying to free three inmates from a jail in Georgia.
Hot Takes:
- If he wanted to be a cop so bad, he should have become a real cop.
- Who knows how many people he's been able to trick into believing he is a real cop.
- He's not the first grown man busted for pretending to be a cop.
