Boyfriend Pops The Question In Rom-Com Tour Of NYC

Dejana Kusic says she’s “always wanted to be proposed to in Central Park,” but she had no idea that dream would come true. She works for On Location Tours in New York City as a tour guide and thought she was just volunteering to do a run-through of their Rom-Com tour with her boyfriend, Pavle Kosovik. But he surprised her with real-life romance when she was least expecting it.

Their site-seeing experience hit so many NYC spots featured in some of our favorite romantic comedies:

  • They started at Cafe Lalo, made famous by Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in “You’ve Got Mail.”
  • From there, the couple took a quick drive in a private car to Jess and Marie’s brownstone in the classic rom-com “When Harry Met Sally.”
  • Up next was a stop at Lincoln Center, seen in films including “Moonstruck,” “Sweet Home Alabama,” and “West Side Story.”
  • On the way to the Plaza Hotel - featured in movies including “The Way We Were” and “Sleepless in Seattle,” they stopped at Tiffany & Co, famously shown in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.”
  • The last stop on the tour, Central Park, is where the magic really happened. When they reached Bow Bridge, a walkway featured in lots of rom-coms, Kosovik knew it would be the perfect spot to propose.
  • Tour guide Laura Walter, Dejana’s coworker and friend, said, “It is written in mythology that if a couple walks over the bridge holding hands, they will be together forever,” as Dejana and Kosovik interlocked their hands and crossed.
  • And then he got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife and of course, she said yes.

So did it live up to the romantic proposals in rom-coms? “It was perfect,” Dejana says. “This was one of the most important and best days of our lives.”

Scott's Thoughts:

  • With all of that effort and planning, it would have been the worst rom-com ever if she said no!
  • I think Christmas morning is a good time to propose.
  • Some guys go all out! Making us regular guys look like schmucks.
