A 78-year-old Missouri woman, who has a history of bank robbery convictions, was caught again trying to hold up a bank last week -- only this time she was just so darn nice about it.
Bonnie Gooch, who held up her first bank back in 1977 and then a second one just three years ago, walked into the Goppert Financial Bank in Pleasant Hill wearing an N95 mask, sunglasses and plastic gloves, and handed the teller a note demanding "13,000 small bills." It also said, "thank you sorry I didn't mean to scare you." Surveillance footage shows the teller remaining calm as Gooch asked her to hurry up. She handed over the cash and Gooch left in a car.Â
Police, who were already notified of the robbery in progress, were able to catch up to Gooch just two miles away from the bank and pulled her over. They noted that she smelled of alcohol and had cash scattered on the floor of the car. She was arrested and charged with one count of stealing from a financial institution.
