An escaped bull had to be put down in rural Cheshire, England this week after “charging at people” near an elementary school. Since the "agitated" animal couldn’t be stopped o controlled, officers said they killed the bull "before anyone was seriously hurt".
A spokesperson said there was also a risk of the bull running onto the main road and through neighborhoods which could have caused a serious accident. They stated that once it was clear authorities and the bull’s owner was out of options, they put it down, adding, "This decision is never taken lightly and the main focus here was to protect residents, some of whom were dropping children off at the nearby school."
