Bride Has Bridesmaids Wear White Since She “Doesn’t Need Attention”

If there’s one rule of what to wear as a wedding guest, it’s don’t show up in a white dress and upstage the bride. People who do get shamed online all the time as it’s pretty much the biggest faux pas you can make at someone else’s wedding. But one bride ditched tradition and actually had her bridesmaids wear white dresses, which got some strong reactions on social media.

Gretzie Parth posted a video of her wedding day, showing her bridal party dressed in various white gowns, as well as her all-white wedding decor and other details like her statement veil. While she was happy with her decision, haters couldn’t resist calling out the unusual color choice for bridesmaids’ dresses. They made comments like, “I’m sorry, who is the bride again?” and “I couldn’t tell who the bride was.”

But Gretzie didn’t regret her choice at all and defended her decision in a follow-up video, saying she loved the “timeless look” of her bridal party. As a bridal makeup artist, she’s worked on weddings for seven years and says a color never stuck out to her and made her want to use it for her own wedding. She also explains that she was happy to have her bridesmaids be in the spotlight because she doesn’t “care for that kind of attention.” She sums it up by saying, “My bridal party is hot, and I want them to look and feel that way, too.”

Scott's Thoughts:

  • Dressing your bridesmaid in white is one thing, having your mother-in-law show up unexpectedly in a long white gown at your wedding will never be okay!
  • I have known many bridesmaids that had no business in white. Just sayin'.
  • How will we know which one is the bride if we are sitting in the back?
