Summer is the time for vacation for a lot of people and while some are satisfied with a good book to read on the beach, it seems a lot of singles are looking for romance on their trip. Bumble reports seeing a boost in people’s hopes for finding a fling during their summer travels, a trend known as “wanderlove.”
It’s not a new term, but it’s making a comeback this summer, according to the dating app. Last month, Bumble surveyed around 56-hundred users around the world and found:
- 53% are hoping for a romance while on vacation this summer.
- The same amount admit they feel more attractive when they’re on vacation
- 21% say they’re more attracted to people from different places.
- Almost a third (30%) of Bumble users use dating apps to meet new people while traveling alone
- And 52% say dating abroad is a fun way to learn about a different culture.
The top five destinations Bumble users are going to this summer are:
- Greek Islands (Santorini, Rhodes, Hydra)
- Balearic Islands, Spain (Mallorca, Ibiza, Formentera)
- Paris, France
- Amalfi Coast, Italy
- Lisbon, Portugal

Scott's Thoughts:
- How exactly do you flirt with someone if you don’t speak the same language?
- This sounds like the stuff of a bad Hallmark movie!
- Not judging, but hooking up with people all over the world shouldn't be a goal.
