When in doubt, go home! A movement is taking place in China where Millennials and Gen X’ers are moving back in with their parents to clean and shop in exchange for free rent and even a monthly paycheck. The hashtags #fulltimedaughter, #fulltimeson, and #fulltimechildren have taken over a children’s work communication center thread in China with folks who are moving home after either being burnt out or simply being unable to find work.
A 21-year-old woman on the thread says she was so over trying to make it as a professional, she took up her parents on a grocery shop and took care of her family for $822 a month. Another 31-year-old says she does the same thing these days – for $1028 a month, she gets up with her parents to exercise each morning, she helps them with chores, and even books all their travel arrangements for trips. Not a bad deal.
