American Girl has announced their 2024 Girl of the Year doll is Lila, a 10-year-old from Minnesota. She loves riding horses, is on a competitive gymnastics team and has long caramel-colored hair and amber eyes. Lila’s story is told in an illustrated journal that comes with the doll and in a separate full-length novel, “Lila Goes for Gold,” written by best-selling author Erin Falligant. American Girl has pledged to donate $25-thousand worth of Girl of the Year books to Save the Children’s U.S. literacy program.
