Though it doesn’t sound like the most masculine thing in the world, a nice hot bath is a highly underrated way to wash the stress of the day away. Seriously. While some might be inclined to spend an hour, or so, in a soak, a new study claims to have found the optimum amount of time to get the most benefit from the bath. Studying 20 people, 10 male and 10 female, the study found that 22 minutes soaking in hot water will be the most effective in getting you “relaxed, hydrated, and sleepy.” Going any longer than that, they found, can actually leave you feeling dehydrated. That goes for men. For women, a slightly longer bath tends to help them have a better night’s sleep…but definitely no longer than 30 minutes.
