When it comes to New Year’s resolutions, losing weight is at the top of the list for many Americans, so what’s the best way to do it? A new report from “U.S. News & World Report” has some ideas. The results of their annual Best Diet rankings have just come out, revealing the top diets for 2024.
- A panel of 43 medical and nutrition experts analyzed 30 diets to determine the winners in 11 categories, including Best Overall Diets, Best Weight Loss Diets and Best Heart-Healthy Diets.
- The Mediterranean diet has been named the Best Overall Diet for the seventh year in a row.
- It focuses on the importance of eating a wide range of mostly plant-based foods including fruits, vegetables and whole grains, with some seafood and olive oil.
- The Mediterranean diet tops the list in seven of the 11 categories this year, including Best Diabetes Diets, Best Heart-Healthy Diets and Easiest To Follow Diets.
- The keto diet is number one for Best Fast Weight Loss, the Weight Watchers diet is first for Best Weight Loss and the Best Family-Friendly diet is the Mediterranean diet.
