Now that we’re a few days into the New Year, some folks are already giving up on their resolutions. Making those goals is easy, but sticking to them can be a challenge, and it turns out, where you live can affect whether you’re more likely to reach them or not.

  • WalletHub’s annual report on the Best Cities for Keeping New Year’s resolutions has just come out.
  • They compared 182 U.S. cities on 57 factors that help promote self-improvement in the areas of Health, Financial, School & Work, Bad Habit and Relationship resolutions.
  • Cities were rated on everything from exercise opportunities to income growth to employment outlook.
  • For 2024, the best city for sticking to resolutions is Seattle, Washington, coming in third for both the Financial and Relationship categories.
  • Scottsdale, Arizona, third overall, is first for Health Resolutions, while Overland Park, Kansas, 12th overall, is number one for Financial Resolutions.
  • Columbia, Maryland, 17th overall, is tops for Bad Habit Resolutions, while San Francisco, second overall, is number one for Relationship Resolutions.
  • As for the worst city for keeping New Year’s resolutions, Newark, New Jersey earns that title for 2024.
