Marlene Egelhorn is an Australian heiress with $27 million burning a hole in her pocket. In September of 2022, her grandmother passed away and left her a fortune. Now, Egelhorn is looking for 50 people to help her decide how to best spend that windfall. Itâs an initiative sheâs calling âGood Council for Redistribution.â As of now, her plan is to redistribute 90% of the cash, and each member of her council will receive $1,300, plus travel expenses, for each weekend of discussions they attend on how to best spend the cash. By the way, those 50 people are to be randomly selected, and are limited to AustraliansâŚsorry.

Retired Teacherâs Pension Stopped Because She Canât Prove Sheâs Not Dead
How do you argue with a government that insists that youâre deadâŚeven though youâre clearly alive? Eileen McGrath is an 85-year-old retired teacher in the UK whoâs dealing with her pension being stopped for the fourth time because her provider is convinced that sheâs kicked the bucket. It seems that her account was âwrongly matchedâ with someone whoâd diedâŚand sheâs even received two letters from Teachersâ Pensions asking her if she was dead. It seems that if someone answers a letter like that, it would serve as a fairly clear clue that they were alive. Just sayinâ.
