In Turkey, a woman only known as “A.Y.” has filed for divorce from her husband, “C.Y.” because of his “lack of personal hygiene.” A.Y. says her now ex-husband would wear the same clothes up to five days in a row, “rarely showered,” and “constantly reeked of sweat.” She also came to court with statements confirming her allegations from mutual acquaintances and some of his coworkers. The court not only granted the divorce but ordered her stinky former spouse to pay her $16,500 for having to put up with his aroma. According to court documents, C.Y. would shower “once every seven-to-ten days” and brush his teeth “once or twice a week”…making his breath “unbearable.”
