In Russia, Alexander Zhadan has made news by using AI to find the love of his life. Through the use of ChatGPT, Zhadan was able to “train and use” ChatGPT to filter through the online dating profiles of 5,239 women. Then, he took the best matches out on dates, eventually finding his soon-to-be-wife. Filters that were eliminated from his search were those profiles with fewer than two photos, those with references to “astrology, religion, pro-war statements,” and those profiles with “overly-revealing” pictures. Then, he trained ChatGPT to go through some communication exercises by feeding it “previous conversations he’d had with other girls,” which took around 120 hours to get to a “level he was satisfied with.” In all, the program weeded Zhadan’s search down to 12 girls, one of which is Katerina, the one he intends to marry.
