If there’s ever going to be a movie starring Robert DeNiro, Morgan Freeman, Jack Nicholson, and Michael Caine, this would be the plot. A gang of six men in their 60s and 70s have been arrested in Italy. They stand accused of “carrying out several armed burglaries at post offices” around the country. All of the arrested members had criminal records, but the ones said to be the “leaders” were said to have “particularly impressive” criminal backgrounds dating back to the 1970s. Authorities say the elderly gang was structured, too, with three top members, a key maker for locks, and two bricklayers who “handled the ‘holes’ through which the gang entered the post offices.”
