Pucker up for a history lesson... Just about every woman has a soft spot for bright red lipstick – and the same was true nearly 4,000 years ago. Archaeologists doing some digging in the Middle East recently dug up a small, cylindrical vial made of stone that contained a substance strikingly similar to modern lipstick. The ancient makeup was made up of plant-based wax and tinted with a variety of natural dyes that added up to a classic red. Women didn't just use cosmetics for day-to-day wear: They were even buried with them, indicating that they believed they'd be useful in the afterlife.
Speaking of red …
Red tights aren’t just for Christmas … Red tights are red hot right now, and they’re everywhere from runways to being sported by celebs like Kylie Jenner, Anya Taylor-Joy, Elle Fanning, and Chloë Sevigny – who rocked a red dress, red tights, and red shoes on the February cover of British Vogue.
