There’s movie memorabilia…and then there’s Bill Murray movie memorabilia. For the next 17 days, give or take, Heritage Auctions has up for bid the actual bowling ball used by Murray in the cult classic “Kingpin.” The translucent “Red Rose” bowling ball made famous by the Ernie McCracken character in 1996 was used by Murray to roll three consecutive strikes during the film’s climax. Incidentally, that really did happen, and no added footage was edited into the film. Currently, bidding for the 14.5-pound ball is at $37K, which has surpassed estimates going into the auction.
