Police in Minnesota have arrested two Texas men they believe are behind a wide theft ring involving calculators.
Cops arrested 23-year-old Zachary Fininen and 30-year-old Antonio Griffin Jr. after they were caught in a Target parking lot with $5000 worth of stolen calculators. An investigation discovered that the men drove from Dallas all the way to Minnesota to steal graphing calculators and had actually swiped about $18,500 worth of calculators from eight Target stores. Both men are facing up to 10 years in jail if convicted. (USA Today)
Scott's Thoughts:
- Those calculators can cost as much as $170 and are commonly used by high school students.
- So these guys had to go all the way to Minnesota when they're from Texas -- home of Texas Instruments which makes these graphing calculators?
- Their plan didn't quite add up.
