A nine-year-old boy in California was stopped by police on Wednesday when all he was doing was going to school. Of course, he was driving himself there.
California Highway Patrol in Oroville says they spotted a car "stopped oddly in the middle of the intersection." When they instructed the driver to move out of the intersection, the car took off and led police on a brief chase. It finally ended in a dirt parking lot next to an elementary school. After the vehicle stopped, it backed up into a patrol car and caused minor damage.
As troopers approached the car they noticed that the driver was a nine-year-old boy who told them, "I'm sorry, I'm trying to get to school." Officers contacted the boy's parents and documented the incident. They then escorted him to school. (USA Today)
