In Southold, New York, a driver pulled a “Thelma & Louise” moment…and lived to talk about it. Police Chief Martin Flatley says his department received a domestic violence call, which turned into a 45-minute chase that reached speeds in excess of 100mph. At what ended up being the end of the chase, the as-of-yet-unidentified man drove off a 100-foot cliff…and into Long Island Sound…without hitting the brakes or slowing down. His car reportedly landed in “three-to-five-feet of water,” and the driver was pulled from the car alive, complaining of “pain but with no visible injuries,” and taken into custody. Charges are pending.
