Southwest Airlines Is Raising Fee To Board Early: Southwest Airlines recently announced plans to increase fees for its EarlyBird Check-In and Upgraded Boarding services. The new fees range from $15 to $99 for EarlyBird Check-In and $30 to $149 for Upgraded Boarding, based on flight length and demand. The previous upper ends for the fees were $25 for EarlyBird Check-In and $80 for Upgraded Boarding, although the airline says they’ve never sold these perks for the top-of-the-range prices. Passengers with elite status, Business Select fares, or specific co-branded credit cards may still access these perks without any additional costs.
