Last year, a 57-year-old Northern California teacher made the news after being accused of “teaching her second-grade class while drunk.” After a month’s long investigation, prosecutors now say that teach won’t be facing any charges in connection with the incident.
- The investigation couldn’t prove that the unnamed teacher drove to the school drunk, and she may have “started drinking only after arriving” at the school
- There was also not enough evidence to prove that the children she was teaching were in actual danger
- It was also determined that “it’s highly inappropriate to teach while intoxicated,” but “it’s not illegal”
Reports say that the name of the teacher in question is no longer found in the school’s staff directory.
