Does saying “please” and “thank you” to your AI assistant matter? According to a recent survey, nearly half of Americans think it does. Gen Z leads the politeness parade, with 56% always minding their manners with AI, compared to 52% of Millennials, 44% of Gen Xers and just 39% of Boomers.
Why be polite to a machine, you ask? 68% of respondents say it’s just their way to be nice, and 29% believe everyone deserves good manners, human or not. Interestingly, 39% of people think our behavior toward AI might come back to haunt us someday.
