A recent study makes you wonder why some smartphones even bother coming with the “phone” feature. A recent survey of 2,000 people from USwitch found that around one-fourth of 18-34-year-olds never answer their phones. Ever. Those people say they’ll ignore the phone’s ringing, will respond with a text, or will “search the number online if they don’t recognize it.” Psychologist Dr. Elena Tourini explains it by saying the millennial and Gen Z crowd “didn’t develop the habit of talking on the phone” so now it “feels weird as it’s not the norm.” More than half of the young people responding to the survey associated getting a phone call with “getting bad news” that comes with anxiety, or a “sense of foreboding or dread.”
