In Richmond, Virginia, Museum District resident Ed Williamson became concerned over a split tree he felt was unsafe and was in danger of falling on a parked car, the sidewalk, or on someone’s home. A month after notifying the city, nothing had been done, so Williamson took matters into his own hands. Armed with a roll of duct tape, Williamson wrapped it around the tree a few times and posted warning signs telling people to “park at your own risk” by the splitting tree. It seems that online mocking alerted the local news works…because the city now says that the tree will be dealt with tomorrow.
