The world's largest goldfish, known as "The Carrot," has passed away at the age of 20 in Champagne, France. This remarkable orange carp weighed 67 pounds and was a major attraction, drawing people from all over Europe who hoped to catch her and then release her back into her pond at Bluewater Lakes. The fishery, owned by British fisherman Gary Tardi, has now buried her beside her lake, where a plaque commemorates her.
The Carrot was beloved for her unique coloring and impressive size, becoming a legend in the fishing community. According to Bluewater Lakes, losing her has deeply affected them, describing her as a "one-off" that touched many souls. Despite her death, The Carrot's legacy continues with two offspring remaining in the lake, one already weighing 40 pounds.
Angler Lee Parker, who caught The Carrot just weeks before her death, and Ben Soane, another admirer, expressed their sadness over her passing but are comforted that her legacy will live on through her offspring.
