Amazon, Target & Other Retailers Kick Off Holiday Sales This Week

If you haven’t even begun to think about your holiday shopping, you may want to get started this week. A bunch of big names in retail are kicking off their pre-holiday sales events this week, offering lots of deals and discounts.

This is what you want to know about this week’s sales events:

Target Circle Week - now through Saturday, October 12th.

  • You need to be a member of Target Circle, their free loyalty program, to take advantage of the sale.
  • Members can save on clothing, bedding, bath, home appliances and more.
  • Target Circle Week also includes up to 50% off select kitchen items from Cuisinart and Instant Pot, and members who spend $40 on toys can get $10 off, or spend $75 on toys and get $20 off.

Kohl’s 3 Days of Deals - Today through Wednesday, October 9th.

  • Anyone can score discounts and daily deals on toys, tech, kitchen appliances, decor, shoes, clothing and baby items.
  • Kohl's Rewards loyalty program members also get $10 off every $50 spent on home products and $10 off $50 or $20 off $100 spent on toys, puzzles and games.

Amazon Prime Big Deal Days - Tomorrow (Tuesday, October 8th) and Wednesday (October 9th)

  • To get in on the savings here, you have to be a member of Amazon Prime, but there’s a free 30-day trial you can use.
  • This sales event offers bargains on everything from clothing to toys, and deals on popular brands like Barbie, Disney, Dyson, Lego and Clinique.

Walmart Holiday Deals - Tomorrow (October 8th) to October 13th

  • Starting at noon tomorrow, shoppers can save $300 on a refrigerator, $100 off on a gaming laptop and score deals on everything from toys to home decor to apparel.
  • Members of the Walmart+ subscription service get early access to the sale at 12 a.m. Tuesday, while in-person shoppers can access the sales when stores open on Wednesday, October 9th.

  • Maybe this is the year I’ll actually get all my holiday shopping done before Christmas Eve!
  • I do shop local when I can, but honestly more than half of what I buy comes from Amazon. Sorry not sorry for saving myself money and time.
  • I am not even sure that Black Friday should still be a thing. That is like the last minute rush for shopping.
