Election Day is Tuesday, and in 21 states…there’s a dress code. It goes beyond just being required to wear pants, shirts, and shoes. These 21 states specifically prohibit what’s known as “electioneering,” or wearing “any type of election-related clothing.” One such state is New Jersey, where a woman didn’t take being asked to remove her politically-inspired hat too kindly. Enraged by the request to lose her hat while voting, the woman reportedly “took off her hat and shirt, spinning it like a lasso…then proceeded to vote wearing only her bra” while cursing out poll workers in front of a crowd of 100, or so, voters. At another polling location, a woman was asked to remove the red cloak and bonnet she was wearing, clearly inspired by “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which she did without incident.

By the way... in Virginia the rules state you CAN wear your MAGA or Vote Harris clothing and hats as a voter. Not as a poll worker. The rule states: "Only voters are allowed to display or wear campaign stickers, buttons, wristbands and apparel in the polling place. All others, like officers of election and authorized representatives, cannot wear any such apparel."
