Generation watch … What does Gen Z do all day? According to a new study, they stare at screens. Gen Z spends more hours consuming media than any other generation – nearly seven hours a day, with some watching 15 hours or more a day. Millennials are next in media consumption, watching 6.3 hours per day. On average, Americans consume six hours of content per day – or 42 hours per week. That adds up to 91 days every year.
42% of all respondents admit they feel like they consume “too much” media and 36% say their mood is “often” negatively affected by what they see on social media. Gen Zers were the most likely to feel that they consumed too much media, at 66%. The average respondent said they feel guilty 3 times every month due to their media consumption habits.
Speaking of Gen Z...
Gen Z has figured out "the secret" … they are manifesting their dream lives. The idea of your thoughts shaping your reality is nothing new, but it's new to this generation – and TikTok is full of clips with the #manifestation hashtag. Whether it’s getting a text back from a crush, landing a dream job, or living in a million-dollar house, Gen Z believes that positive thinking can make it happen. Why the sudden obsession? With an uncertain future, Gen Z is using manifestation as a way to try and take control of their lives.
