Between making sure the house is clean, the table is set and prepping, cooking and serving all the food, hosting Thanksgiving can be pretty stressful. That’s why we’ll take all the helpful tips we can and TikTok has a ton of them. These are some of the best hosting hacks to make Turkey Day go as smoothly as possible this year.
- Use ChatGPT - TikToker @crcederberg shares that she fed all her recipes for Thanksgiving into ChatGPT, then asked the AI chatbot to make a plan of when to prep each dish to be ready to sit down to eat at 4p.m. And it gave her step-by-step directions to make it happen.
- Plan serving dishes ahead of time - From baking dishes to serving bowls, platters and utensils, TikToker @victoriafoxco labels them in advance to make sure she has enough of everything she needs.
- Group ingredients together - @brunchwithbabs puts all the ingredients for each dish on separate baking sheets, pre-measuring ingredients and printing out a recipe card for each tray. That way it’s all there ready to be assembled, which makes delegating super easy if someone is there to help.
- Set up a buffet station - Another TikTok video shows an easy way to serve by turning your kitchen into a buffet station. Just cover it with brown craft paper and write what each item is, that way people can serve themselves and won’t have to ask what’s what.
- Easy way to peel potatoes - It can be a time-consuming task, but TikTok has two hacks to speed it up. For those that hand peel, this video advises sticking a fork in one end of the potato for a better grip. And this clip suggests scoring the potatoes down the middle before boiling so the skins just peel right off.
- Put gravy in a thermos - Free space on the stove and keep gravy warm by keeping it in a thermos.
- Easy leftovers hack - One of the best parts about Thanksgiving is the leftovers, so you’ll want to send guests home with some and TikTok suggests an easy way to do it is with disposable muffin tins. Fill each section with different leftovers so you won’t lose any of your good containers for good.

- Anyone else already feel the stress setting in for Thanksgiving and it’s still weeks away?
- My mom cooks everything I eat on Thanksgiving. But I stress about all the work she has to do.
- I hate the hustle and bustle. Makes it hard to enjoy.
