Protein Overload … The high-protein diet is all the rage these days, but are we overdoing it? According to dietitian Clare Thornton-Wood, who’s a spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, most average-sized adults get enough protein from their normal diet. She suggests most people need less than half-a-gram of protein per pound of body weight each day – and anyone doing muscle strength building exercise could boost that to about 1 gram per pound of bodyweight.
