If you feel like your finances have ever given you a headache, you’re not just imagining it. In a new Harris Poll survey, two-thirds of Americans say they’ve experienced physical symptoms as a result of money worries. The most common problems are trouble sleeping and headaches. But there’s a more insidious way your finances can affect your health. Six in 10 Americans have skipped self-care because they’re worried about the cost. 25% say they didn’t go to a doctor when they needed to, and 17% have passed up joining a gym or taking a fitness class. One thing that can help is financial literacy. 80% of those who don’t feel confident in their knowledge about finances have these issues, compared with 63% who say they’re financially literate.
