Feel like the passion in your relationship could use a little pick-me-up? You might want to book a vacation, as new research reveals 65% of Americans are more romantic during a trip. And more than half (57%) say they feel more connected to their partner while they’re on vacation than at home.
According to a survey of 2-thousand married Americans, 82% think going on a romantic getaway can “reignite the spark” in their relationship. A lucky 56% claim a trip with their significant other actually did rekindle the flame for them.
- Helping to spice things up? Half of respondents say their partners are more affectionate while traveling than in everyday life.
- They get more hand-holding (53%), cuddle more often (37%) and enjoy more PDA (45%) on vacation compared to their regular routine.
- More than half (60%) of couples say they usually feel even more in love when they get home from a trip together.
- About a third (35%) say vacations make them appreciate their partner more, with some saying traveling with their partner “brings out the best” in their relationship (30%).
- Another 28% say it reminds them of why they fell in love with their spouse to begin with, while 21% feel “significantly” more attracted to their partner while on vacation.
- But that feeling doesn’t last forever, as the romantic high tends to fade about a week after returning home (6.5 days, on average).

- Of course we’re more romantic on vacations! There’s no laundry, cooking, carpools or bills to pay on vacation!
- Rest and fun. My two favorite parts of vacation.
