One person’s wacky social media joke is another company’s cause for termination. Kenny Rua is, or was, a salesman at Ziegler Honda, in Racine, Wisconsin. Rua was relieved of his duties after a “joke” he told over social media, in which he implied that he “looked happier” because he’d just “sold a single mom a car $10K over sticker.” There was a backlash, and to his credit, Rua owned the colossal lapse in judgment by apologizing, admitting it was a bad joke, and that there was no truth to it. Still, it cost him his job, and the dealership is still dealing with bad reviews and negative responses from the community over the incident. Lesson learned…for now.
