March 19, 2018 - Radford University has confirmed that a staff member has died after an early morning car crash on March 16, 2018.
Emily Martin, 22, crashed after running off the right side of the road a hitting a utility pole. She was transported to the New River Valley Medical Center with serious injuries where she later died.
Deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 3600 block of Radford Road, near the intersection of Rock Road, around 1:10 a.m. Friday for the single vehicle crash.
Martin was a web and interactive media designer for University Relations. She got her undergraduate degree from RU in 2017 and was hired in October 2017.
