Flood risk and isolated tornado chances increase for Central and Southwest Virginia as the remnants of Hurricane Ida approach our area Tuesday night, into Wednesday.

Rain totals will be between 1" and 3" for most of the area with the more northwestern parts of the area possibly exceeding 3".

Localized flooding is expected.

Tropical systems can increase the risk for isolated tornadoes.
